[EN follows Dutch or in comments] Op dinsdag 14 april 2026 vanaf 13.00 uur organiseren Extinction Rebellion, Here to Support en De Straat Op een solidariteitsprotest voor het gebouw van de Eerste Kamer. Samen spreken we onze afschuw uit over het Tweestatusstelsel en de Asielnoodwetten, waar die dag over gedebatteerd wordt. Wij zijn solidair met iedereen die heeft moeten vluchten, dus kom naar het solidariteitsprotest voor het Eerste Kamer-gebouw!

Het vorige kabinet beweerde het Tweestatusstelsel en de Asielnoodmaatregelenwet in te willen voeren om de druk op de Nederlandse voorzieningen te verminderen. In plaats daarvan gaat het om wetsvoorstellen waarmee de problemen niet aangepakt worden: het gebrek aan betaalbare woningen en de druk op het onderwijs en de zorg zijn niet het gevolg van de komst van vluchtelingen naar Nederland, maar van jarenlang afbraakbeleid door (extreem)rechtse kabinetten. Door problemen te proberen 'op te lossen' met strenger asielbeleid wordt de schuld ervoor in de schoenen geschoven van mensen die, om hun leven te redden, alles hebben moeten achterlaten. Dit is zondebokpolitiek!

Together, we will express our outrage over the two-tier system and the emergency asylum laws, which will be debated that day. We stand in solidarity with everyone who has been forced to flee, so come to the solidarity protest in front of the Senate building!

The previous cabinet claimed it wanted to introduce the Two-Status System and the Emergency Asylum Measures Act to reduce the pressure on Dutch services. Instead, these are legislative proposals that don't address the problems: the lack of affordable housing and the strain on education and healthcare are not the result of refugees coming to the Netherlands, but of years of dismantling policies by (far-)right cabinets. By attempting to “solve” problems with stricter asylum policies, the blame is being shifted onto people who, in order to save their lives, have had to leave everything behind. This is scapegoat politics!
